The 14th HIRAKU Achievement Presentation – Report

The 14th Achievement Report Meeting for FY2021 was held as an online event within Zoom.
The event began with the Opening Remarks from ABE Manabu, Executive Vice President at Hiroshima University and the Guest Speech by YAMAMURA Yasuko, Program Officer at the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Thereafter, within Session I Career Development for Doctoral Personnel, presentations reflecting upon the status of the “Program for the Development of Innovators” initiative over the past 8 years, and the impressions of the HIRAKU Long-Term Internship Program Participants and the HIRAKU 3MT Competition Prize Recipients after becoming employed were undertaken.

Within Session II Forefront of Young Faculty Members’ Research Activities, after reporting on the past 8 years of the “Tenure-Track Program” initiative, presentations and discussions were held by the Newly Appointed Tenure-Track Researchers and the Previously Appointed Tenure-Track Researchers from the HIRAKU Lead Partner Organization and Co-Partner Organizations.

Given that this year is the final fiscal year for the program, a review and look into the future of the HIRAKU program was undertaken, with the representatives of the Lead Partner Organization and Co-Partner Organizations reporting on the results of the program, its ripple effect, and its overall future prospects.
Finally, on behalf of the event’s host institution, Hiroshima University, AIDA Misako, Executive Advisor to the President at Hiroshima University presented her Closing Remarks, and ended the event with great success.
