HIRAKU 3MT Competition 2018 Pre-Training

HIRAKU 3MT Pre-Training was held at two sites (Hiroshima & Tokushima) on Friday, August 10, 2018 (14:00 – 17:00). Out of 31 finalists, 27 contestants have participated in the session.

Todd Allen, Writing Fellow at Writing Center, with experience to compete at 3MT in University of Queensland (the founder of 3MT) facilitated the session, following a series of 3MT info-session held in July.

The participants have been divided into 4 groups and worked on the above activities. Based on the 3MT key points highlighted earlier, they have shared their draft presentation and provided feedback to each other. Given advice and comments from facilitators, they have further refined their presentation for the upcoming competition, while they have experienced the effect of presentation TIPS to showcase their research in three minutes.

“I wanted to spend more time on the group activities, which were quite helpful and learning experience to me.” Similar comments were received from a number of participants.
